My name is Kathy Hopkins and my family and I have lived in Federal Way for the past 20 years. I have taught fourth and fifth graders in our district for the past 20 years. Both of our boys attended Federal Way School District and graduated from Decatur High. My husband Brian works for TubeArt Sign Group in Seattle. We are both originally from the Yakima Valley where most of our family still lives.
I have enjoyed working at Adelaide for the past 8 years and have met many wonderful families who share our common objective of a quality education for every student. Each year I look forward to challenging students in becoming interested in finding their passion for learning and pursuing new ideas and interests and meeting their full potential by encouraging them to believe in themselves and to make each day better than the day before by contributing their full potential and keeping a positive attitude towards learning. As an educator I look forward to helping each student create and meet their educational goals and also in learning how to become compassionate students to help create a better world for themselves and their classmates.
Our
family time is spent enjoying special occasions and traveling when possible.
I enjoy cooking, reading, hiking, spending time in the mountains and being together
with family and friends.
