This morning, students and staff briefly evacuated the school as a precaution while South King Fire & Rescue investigated a report of a possible natural gas leak in the area. Puget Sound Energy crews determined there was not gas leak at the school, and traced the odor to a source several blocks away from the school and repairs are underway. South King Fire & Rescue confirmed it was safe to re-enter the building, and there was no risk to students.
Students and staff are continuing their day on the regular bell schedule and regular dismissal time.
Please know the safety and security of students and staff are always our number one priority. We appreciate the cooperation of our students in evacuating safely, re-entering the building and resuming school as instructed.
