Reminder – Students that leave campus at any time without checking out through the Attendance Office or the Nurse’s office will be unexcused.  All schools in the Federal Way school district have a “closed” campus.  That includes the best school in the district – Federal Way High School.  Once on campus, you cannot leave until the school day is over, unless you check out through the Attendance Office with your parental approval.

 

Winter Sports Clearance – Interested in playing basketball, wrestling, boys swim or gymnastics?  Clearance for winter sports starts November 2nd.  Gymnastics practice starts November 9th; all other winter sports start November 16th.  Pick up sports clearance forms in the Main Office.  If you play a fall sport, you will need to fill out a new emergency card.  Check with Mrs. Conklin to see if your physical is current.  Physicals cannot expire in the middle of the season.  REMEMBER:  Boys and girls basketball is a cut sport.  You must be cleared to start practicing and tryout by November 16th.

 

Native American Club will meet on Wednesday at 2:15 in room 505.  All are welcome.  You don’t need to be Native to come so Eagles spread your wings and fly to Native American Club Wednesday at 2:15 in room 505.

 

Attention all students interested in wrestling and being wrestling managers – There will be a mandatory preseason meeting in room 412 next Wednesday, November 4th at 2:15 pm.  Please contact Coach Mango if you have any questions.

 

The following Colleges and Universities will have representatives in the Career Center this week:

·         Cornish School of the Arts, Wednesday, November 4th, at 9:00 in the Career Center

·         The University of Washington Department of Engineering only, Thursday, November 5th, at 8:00 am in the Career Center – this presentation is limited to students who are interested in pursuing a degree in engineering.  A general informational meeting will be scheduled later this month.

·         Washington State University, Thursday, November 5th, at 12:45 in the Career Center

Please stop by the Career Center for a pass to attend any of these events.

 

FCCLA is sponsoring a Blood Drive with Puget Sound Blood Center this Friday, 11/6, in the Library.  Sign ups will be available at both lunches or in the Library.  You must be 16 years or older to donate.  Parent permission forms are available.  Contact FCCLA or Ms. Zeltner for more information.  Sign up to donate and save 3 lives.

 

Yearbook Announcements:

·         If you want you and your best friend to be in the yearbook, come by room 402 during lunch or 6th period by Tuesday.

·         Yearbook staff is interested in what your after school activities are and the places you like to hangout.  Write it out on paper and drop it off in the drop box inside room 402.  Put your name and 6th period class on the paper.

 

Are you interested in helping others?  Do you care about our Eagles?  If so, you need to join Sparrow Club.  We are meeting this Thursday in room 206.  Come by, one and all, and see what you can do to help.

 

If you took retake photos on October 13th, please pick them up from room 402 today.

 

There will be a Chess Club meeting after school in the Library at 2:15 to 3:45.  Please attend and prepare for upcoming tournaments.

 

Gamer’s Club will be meeting tomorrow and next week in Mr. Whipple’s room, room 113.  It’s a fright night , so come down with your game face on.  Permission slips will be needed; you can get them from Mr. Whipple before tomorrow.

 

Cross Country Runners – There will be an end of the season meeting in Ms. Licari’s room tomorrow after school.  You must turn in your uniform by then or it will become a fine for you.  We will be voting on Captains and most inspirational.  So be there tomorrow, Wednesday in Coach Licari’s room at 2:15 sharp.

 

Asian American Club will be having a grand meeting on Wednesday, November 4th in room 406 from 2:15-3:00.  We will discuss our goals for the year and elect officers to lead us.  All are welcome, we look forward to seeing you there.
