Student
Injuries & Insurance
Dear Parent:
Your
child's school (Federal Way High School) does not provide medical
insurance coverage for school accidents. This means that YOU are
responsible for the medical bills if your child gets hurt during school activities
and athletics.
*However,
Myers-Stevens & Toohey & Co., Inc. (student insurance) offers plans to
help you pay those bills.
Many
coverage options are available. The Student Health Care and Full Time
24-Hour Accident plans are especially recommended for those students with no
other insurance because they provide the most help when injuries occur.
Student Health Care covers illness as well as injury, 24 hours a day.
If
your child does have other health coverage, student insurance may also be used
to help pay those eligible charges not covered by other insurance.
FWHS
receives and has Myers-Stevens brochures - located in our main office as well
as our Athletic Directors office. You
can pick them up any time during the current school year.
Please read your brochure carefully. If you have any questions, please call the plan administrator, Myers-Stevens, at (800) 827-4695, or at (949) 348-0656. Bilingual representatives are available for parents who need assistance in Spanish.
*Note: Please remember that Federal Way High School does not provide insurance. It merely refers Myers-Stevens as a possible insurance agency that can provide you with insurance.
***Our school website provides an electronic copy of the brochure by clicking here. Keep in mind Myers-Stevens requires that you MAIL in forms and payments to them (will need a brochure from our office)…they do not accept electronic payments/forms.
