College Information Update

 

9th and 10 grade students attended the National College Fair on Monday November 5th. 

 

10th grade students presented letters of introduction and both 9th and 10th passed out Cambridge brochures.

 

Sherry Reach, US Cambridge representative, met with College Fair Representatives on Sunday November 4th and provided them with detailed program information.

 

Federal Way High School Building Coordinator has been in contact with:

Admissions representatives who have visited Federal Way High School.

OSPI Advanced Placement Programs to look into test fee help for

free/reduced lunch students.

Washington Public Universities Coordinating  Group of Admissions Directors

and Registrars.

Admissions Counselor University of Puget Sound for a review of Cambridge curriculum and tests.

 

Honor Code

 

Students and parents, please review the honor code information on the Federal Way High School website. 

In order to insure the integrity of the coursework and testing of the Cambridge Preparatory Academy, students must adhere to all aspects of the policy.  While cooperative work and study is encouraged, students must make every effort to do their own work.   It is the student’s responsibility to clarify group work versus independent work with their teachers.

10th Grade Conferences

 

Conferences for 10th grade students and parents to plan student’s 11th and 12th grade Cambridge program are scheduled for January 7 through January 18.  The coordinator will meet with students and parents to 

Pre-register for the 11th grade program.  Parents and students are asked to return the conference information sheet to their advisory teacher with their preference for the day and time frame for their conference.   Grades, test information, and student interest will be factors for determining the selection of courses.  Course selections may be reviewed and revised during the summer before 11th grade based on IGCSE test results that will be available in August of 2008.

Cambridge Testing for Grades 11 and 12

 

Students will have the opportunity to test for their AICE Diploma in grades 11 and 12. AICE Diploma

testing must be completed within a 13-month time frame.  Tests must be taken from the three broad

areas of Math and Sciences, Arts and Humanities, and Languages.  Advanced Subsidiary (AS) tests are part

one of the A level tests.  The AS tests (part one) combined with the A Level tests (part two) combine for

A Level credit.  Both AS and A Level tests count toward the AICE Diploma.
