Act Six – For
Fall 2009, Act Six will recruit 36 of Tacoma-Seattle’s most promising emerging
urban leaders in fiver diverse multicultural cadres. Act Six scholars must be:
passionate about learning, eager to foster intercultural relationships, willing
to step out of their comfort zones, committed to serving those around them and

Coca-Cola Scholars Program: If you are a truly motivated,
dedicated, involved high school senior, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation is
awarding $3 million a year in scholarships to 250 deserving students just like

Dr. Seuss’s Oh the Places You’ll Go 2010 College Scholarship
Program: Applicants must be 12th grade high school
students graduating spring 2010, age 21 years or under. Applicants will need to
write an essay after reading Dr. Seuss’s “Oh the Places You’ll Go” ( Copies are
available for reading in the career center.

Application Deadline February 15th 2010.
Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship: Open to
any student who is in the graduating class of 2010 who plan on attending a
community college or 4 year college or university in the fall. Applications are available in the career
center or download online www.elks.org/enf Application Deadline November 2nd 2009.
Gates Millennium Scholarship Program:
Established in
1999 to provide outstanding low income African American, American Indian/Alaska
Native, Asian Pacific Island American, and Hispanic American students with an
opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education in any discipline
area of interest. Please see Ms. Boone
in the career center for details. This is a lengthy application process do not
wait until the last minute !!! To

Prudential Spirit of Community Awards:
Open to all
students 9-12 who have made a difference in their community volunteering. ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO MS.
BOONE NO LATER THAN NOVEMBER 2ND TO QUALIFY FOR RECOGNITION. ( FWHS will recognize the top students at an
assembly later in the year) The top

Seattle University Sullivan Leadership Award: A four-year full scholarship
supporting students committed to Service, Leadership, Academic Rigor,
Community, Spirituality, and Global Awareness.
Applicants must be planning on attending Seattle University in the fall
of 2010. Students must submit an
admissions application and a Sullivan Leadership application. Applications for
the scholarship is online www.seattleu.edu/sullivan

Wendy’s High School Heisman Scholarship: This
award honors both male and female high school students who excel in academics,
athletics, and student leadership.
Eligibility for application is limited exclusively to men and women
entering their senior year of high school and who have at least a “B” grade
average and participate in at lease one school-sponsored sport. Please select
Ms. Carla Boone to be your reviewer for your application. On-line applications are available on the
Wendy’s High School Heisman website (www.wendysheisman.com).
