There are many ways to finance your education beyond high school but there are a few things that you must be aware of in the process. First, don't decide not to go to any higher learning institution based on it's cost. Determining whether or not you can afford the school may not be done until you receive your "financial aid award" which is money the school offers to assist with your educational costs. This award may come in the form of grants, scholarships, loans, or employment. Second, financial aid awards are often based upon "need" that is, what are you or your family capable of paying toward your education. One way to determine this need is to obtain and fill out the "Free Application for Federal Student Aid" or FAFSA and is a requirement if you intend to apply for any type of federal aid. These forms are located in the Career Center and in the Counseling Office or you may complete the form on-line.
