Meeting Minutes
October 14, 2009
Call to Order at 7:00 pm.
Minutes – No minutes were available at the meeting.
Treasurer’s Report – The treasurer’s report through 6/30/09 was presented and accepted to file as written.
Budget Approval – A proposed budget was presented and reviewed. The 2009-10 budget was accepted as written.
Principal’s Report- Mrs. Griebel presented a list of upcoming events.
November 5-7 Improv. Play – 7:00 pm
November 6 Blood Drive
November 9 Gymnastics Practice Starts
November 11 No School – Veteran’s Day
November 12-14 Improv. Play – 7:00 pm
November 16 All other winter sports practices start
November 17-19 College Application Help Days
November 17 IGNITE Parent Night, 6-8pm
November 23 Parent Meeting – Scholarships 6:30 pm
November 24 Winter Sports Parent Meeting – 6:00 pm
November 25 Early Dismissal 12:05 pm
November 26-27 No School - Thanksgiving
December 5 Winter Ball
December 7 End of 2nd 6-week grading period
December 15 Choir Concert, Decatur – 7:00 pm
Dec. 21- Jan. 1st No School – Winter Break
Emergency Preparation – Updates soon with information about purchases made and upcoming needs.
Senior Party – Emails soon on this event. Because of graduation being at 10:00 am and the lack of students attending a PTSA grad night party the past few years we will not be having an overnight grad night party. Instead we would like to get a group of parents and some staff together to plan a senior breakfast, last day of school bbq, or some other event that is low cost to students. This would be a PTSA sponsored event for our seniors at FW High School.
Reflections – Sandy Bjork emailed information to all staff and also put flyers in the office. They have copies of all the rules for each category along with a letter explaining the program. All entries are due November 16th. Information is also posted on the FW High School website under the PTSA tab.
Membership – Linda is collecting membership forms and inputting all the data. We have 25+ members on the date of the meeting.
SAT class – Cathy Willis will be our chairperson for this which will take place in the Spring. More information soon.
New Business:
Staff Membership Drive – Linda Dahl will put flyers in all the staff boxes.
Staff Appreciation – Will be doing a holiday snack day for staff in December – cookies, snacks, drinks etc. Staff Appreciation Week is in May – more details soon.
Graduation – June 12th at 10:00 am at the Tacoma Dome
Superintendent Retiring – Our long time Federal Way Superintendent will be retiring at the end of this school year.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 pm.
Next Meeting – January 27th at 7:00 pm in the library.
