Supplies
A
list of suggested supplies is provided for all students in grade
1-5. Being prepared for class includes having these supplies. Please
have students label each item with their name. Kindergarten supplies
are discussed at orientation sessions.
Emergency School Closure
It is the policy of the Federal Way School District to hold school
whenever possible. However, there may be days when school must be
closed, start later, or be dismissed earlier than usual due to weather
or emergency conditions. The district uses several local radio stations
to inform the community. Explanations are also made in writing and
distributed to all families. This should be kept for your reference.
It is imperative that you designate on the yellow emergency card persons
to pick up your child (must be older than 18 years of age) and/or
locations for your child to go to during emergency dismissals.
Money and Valuables
Because of danger of loss, pupils are requested not to bring more
money to school than is needed during the school day. Valuable jewelry,
expensive pens, electronic equipment and playthings are not to be
brought to school. Personal items of any kind are brought at students’
own risk.
Safety Patrol
Our school safety patrol will be on duty in the immediate vicinity
of the school. Parents, please inform your children to be safety conscious.
Students are expected to use school crossings and obey the safety
patrol members on duty. Drivers should be safety conscious as well.
From 3:00 to 3:30 p.m., the busses have priority space in the front
driveway. Due to the limited space for parking and entry/exit, we
request that parents who are picking up students do so by parking
on the street and walking up to meet their child. Please do not block
the flow through area in the upper parking lot. School Colors &
School Spirit
Lake Dolloff Elementary, Home of the Dolphins, royal blue and
white have been designated as the school colors. Students are encouraged
to wear school colors and/or school sweatshirts or t-shirts on Fridays
to enhance school spirit. The Student Council often selects several
different “School Spirit “ dress up Fridays (ex. Hat day, inside-out
day) throughout the year.
