Lakeland Walking Club

This year is the fifth year of Lakeland's Walking Club. Mr. Emry, Lakelands PE teacher heads up the recess program. Every lunch recess all Lakeland intermediate students are invited to walk around the Lakeland building earning card punches for each lap. After earning 20 punches they have walked five miles. Each student recieves a foot token for each five miles completed. Last year four students entered the 100 mile club. Many students are working hard this year to become members of the coveted 100 mile club. This healthy and fun recess choice has become a hit with Lakeland students.

This program is also available for primary students. They earn a token after walking four laps around the school, that equals one mile! Several of these smaller walkers have hit the five mile walk!

Lakeland Talent Show

Last year more that 28 students participated in the Lakeland Talent Show. There was dancing, singing, instruments, gymnastics, and comedy. Our students showed great talent in a variety of areas and worked hard to do a good job. We look forward to seeing what Lakeland students do in the 2007/2008 school year.
