College Bound Scholarships

Think you can’t afford college?  Think again.

If you are in the 7th or 8th grade you may be eligible for a four-year College Bound Scholarship.  Now, thanks to a state-sponsored scholarship there is hope and incentive for students who otherwise might not consider college as an option because of their family’s income.  Students in 7th or 8th grade whose families are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch and all foster youth may apply.  Students also need to graduate from a Washington high school or home school with a 2.0 GPA, and follow through on a pledge to demonstrate good citizenship.  The deadline for applications is June 30 of your 8th grade year.

Families will have an opportunity to sign up at Lakota during the upcoming student-led conference days.  Lakota counselors will be available to provide assistance with the online application process and answer any questions.  Families may also get more information and apply online by going to www.hecb.wa.gov/collegebound.

Applications are available in several languages.

Don’t delay!    Apply today!
