“CLOSED” OR “SCHOOLS CLOSED”

This means that NO schools in the Federal Way Public School District will be in session for that day only. This also means there will be no “out-of-district” transportation. Students attending “out-of-district” classes will NOT receive transportation, even if the host-ing district is in session. All scheduled athletic and activity eventsare cancelled.

“2 HOURS LATE”

Classes will begin two hours later than normal. Bus pick-up sched-ules will also be two hours later than normal. Buses will start theirroutes on the two-hour late schedule, but road and traffic conditions may impede progress, so the buses could be running later.Classes will dismiss at the normal time.

When schools begin late, the following classes or programs WILL NOT OPERATE:

“LIMITED BUS TRANSPORTATION”

This means that part or all of some routes will not be covered.Please review the District map (348K PDF). On the map, the District is divided into four zones. If no reference is made about zones,the announcement applies to all zones and all schools. There areshaded areas in each zone. The shaded areas identify areas wherethe buses WILL NOT OPERATE . If the regular bus stop appearsin a shaded area, choose a stop from the alternate list below themap. The drivers of students with special transportation needs will let parents of those students know if their service is to be differentthan identified above.

“NO TRANSPORTATION”

Schools are open, classes are in session, but NO BUSES will beoperating. This includes “in-district,” “out-of-district” and “Spe-cial Needs” buses.
