The district’s Choice Program is now open for the 2010-2011 school year. The program allows students to apply to attend a school in the district other than their assigned neighborhood school. Secondary Open Enrollment, for grades 6 – 12, will be from February 2 through February 27, 2010. Students and parents can pick up an application at any Federal Way public school or at the Educational Service Center (ESC). The lottery will be public and take place March 16, 2010 at the ESC. Notification of placement status will be mailed by April 1, 2010. Students offered placement MUST read the letter carefully and follow the directions to confirm acceptance of the offer or to decline.
Out-of-district applications will be accepted beginning August 1, 2010. All out of district applications MUST be accompanied by a release from the resident school district.
A letter of information and invitation to "Information Night", was sent to all parents of 5th graders attending school in the Federal Way School District. New Student "Information Nights" will be held on January 28, 2010 and February 24, 2010, both at 7:00pm in the Commons at Public Academy.
