Beluga
The beluga whale is considered critically endangered and has been placed under the protection of the Endangered Species Act by the U.S. Federal Government. The total population of beluga whales worldwide is 100,000. Human pollution has a significant effect on the health of a beluga whale. Diseases such as Herpesvirus and Sarcocystis can harm these animals. Pollution can give the belugas cancer or effect the reproduction of the beluga.
