Families Invited to Learn more about Grade Book and Grading System During School Events

The district is hosting seven forums for parents to learn more about the new grade book and how grades are calculated. The events will be hosted at each middle school throughout October and November.

Elementary parents are invited to attend the event at the school their elementary school feeds in to. High school parents are invited to attend an event at the middle school closest to them. Those with schedule conflicts for their school event are encouraged to attend any of the other events.

New this year are some adjustments to the grading calculations, based on parent, staff, student and administrator input during the first two years since SBE was implemented. Also, a new and improved online grade book, which includes the ability to check on grades, attendance, or look up information like graduation requirements, all from mobile Apple and Android devices.

Each parent forum will last for around an hour, and will include an explanation of grading policy, a demonstration of how to create a parent account and using the online grade book, and a time for questions.
