Recycle Kick Off Day is May 15th!

On May 15th, 2012 we will be starting a recycling program in the cafeteria.  We are one of many schools in the Federal Way School District participating in this program.  We are very excited to participate.

Recyclables such as cans, milk cartons, plastic bottles, clean paper and drink boxes will be collected in the new blue recycling containers.

We will be promoting this new program and recruiting students to help monitor the program in the cafeteria.  We will also have a City or District staff onsite to assist on the first day.

Thank you for recycling and helping students recycle!

Fact: Of all material thrown away in Washington State, 40% is recyclable paper.  Help to change this percentage by recycling yours.

Fact: In America, we throw away enough aluminum to rebuild all of our airplanes in America every three months (since airplanes are made of aluminum).  Help to change this amount by recycling your cans.

Federal Way High School may have a remodeled exterior, but behind the facade the school needs more than a makeover.  As the school, more than 80 years old, continues to deteriorate it’s becoming harder to support a quality education for the students who attend there.  Take a video tour and hear from Federal Way High School students, staff members and community members.
