 School Psychologist
Irene Williams

The school psychologist leads an evaluation team in assessing students who are having difficulty learning. The evaluation determines if students are eligible for special education service. Students who are eligible are provided with an Individual Educational Plan that provides specially designed instruction. Students in special education are re-evaluated at least every three years.

The school psychologist also provides consultation to teachers to assist in developing interventions for students who are having difficulty.

A school psychologist may not evaluate or work directly with a student in an individual manner without written consent from the parent.

School psychologists use their evaluation skills to assist teachers in providing instruction that matches the various learning styles of students so that all students may learn and receive appropriate educations.

Parents who want to know more about special education or evaluations may contact me by calling 945-3638. If you reach my voice mail, please leave your name and telephone number and times that are most convenient for a return call.
