Developmental Preschool

A Developmental Preschool offers support for students with special needs, ages 3-5 years old. Peer models , which are typically developing children, are encouraged to participate in the program.
• The children benefit from a small class size, child-centered hands-on activities that promote development in language, fine motor skills, social skills, and Pre-K readiness skills, daily outdoor recess and a weekly Physical Education class.
• Numerous family events, such as family outings are sponsored with a mix of both evening and daytime events so working parents can also be involved.
• An Early Childhood Education Special Ed teacher , and Para-Educator provide a four-day a week Social & Educational program. Speech Therapist , Adaptive Physical Education teacher , Physical Therapist, and Occupational Therapist provide additional support for the program.
Preschool is held Monday through Thursday, for 2 hours and 45 minutes per session. The program follows the school year calendar.
Morning ( 8:45-11:30 A.M. )
Afternoon ( 12:30-3:15 P.M. )
Transportation is provided for children with special needs, peer model parents need to provide transportation to and from school.
Tuition for Peer Models is $190 a month, with a $25 registration fee. Payment Options available
All student's r egistration needs to be completed at the school office before the student can be enrolled - Office hours: 7:30 - 4:00 253.945-3700. Jodi Klettke, and Erleen Coursey will assist you with the paper work and tuition. (Shot records, Birth certificate, emergency phone numbers will be needed.)
Federal Way School District offers CHILD FIND Developmental Screening for preschool children who may have delays in communication, cognitive, adaptive, social/emotional/behavioral, fine motor and gross motor skills.
