Silver Lake Elemantary recipient of :
We are pleased to announce that Federal Way High School, Kilo Middle School, and Silver Lake Elementary are recipients of THE MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR THE 2007- 2008 SCHOOL YEAR.
The awards are presented to schools that achieved the largest increase in reading and math scores on the Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL) by under-represented and low-income students.
Federal Way High School achieved a 46.7% increase in reading and math scores by the target groups -- the largest increase of any school in the district. Among middle schools, Kilo achieved the largest gain, a 28.4% increase. At the elementary level, Silver Lake achieved a 26.6% increase in reading and math scores.
The awards were presented at the January 27th School Board of Directors meeting. Our award is located in the 100 wing right outside the school office.
