Awards History

 

2006 – 2007

American Regions Math League (June)
Each year each state/region sends a team of ‘all-stars’ to compete in the American Regions Math League (ARML).  This year, the competition has expanded to include competitors from Taiwan, Turkey, Columbia, and Khazakastan.  This year, Jeffrey W. will go to Las Vegas to be on the team to represent Washington State.

Mu Alpha Theta States (March)
The Mu Alpha Theta organization is a national math honor society for high school students.  Each year, a statewide Mu Alpha Theta contest is held in Washington.  This year we had the following students place in Alpha Number Theory:

Jo B. - 10th place
Nathaniel P. - 11th place
Sam M. - 14th place
Lindsey Y. - 15th place

2005 – 2006

American Regions Math League (June)
Each year each state/region sends a team of ‘all-stars’ to compete in the American Regions Math League (ARML).  In recent years, foreign countries like Russia and Taiwan have been added to the contest.  This year, Jeffrey W. will go to Las Vegas to be on the team to represent Washington State.

Mu Alpha Theta States (March)
The Mu Alpha Theta organization is a national math honor society for high school students.  Each year, a statewide Mu Alpha Theta contest is held in Washington.  This year Beamer had the following awards:

Jeffrey W.  - 10th place Calculus Sequences and Series, 6th place Mental Math
Arnold S. - 12th place Alpha Geometry

American Math Contests (February)
The AMC 12 contest is the premiere math contest for high school students in the USA.  It is the first part of a series of contests that lead to the selection of the students who will represent the United States at the International Math Olympiad.  This year the IMO will be hosted in Slovenia.

A school’s team score is calculated by adding the top 3 individual scores from that school.  With Jeffrey W., Cole B., and Koco S., our school scored above 300 points, giving Beamer the AMC’s Certificate of Merit. 

Students who score 100 points or more are invited to compete in the American Invitationals.  Jeffrey W. and Cole B. both qualified to compete in this event.   

2004 – 2005

Mu Alpha Theta States (March)
The Mu Alpha Theta organization is a national math honor society for high school students.  Each year, a statewide Mu Alpha Theta contest is held in Washington.  This year Beamer had the following awards:

Richard S. – 7th place Speed Math, 12th place Mu Number Theory
Jeffrey W. - 12th place Calculus Sequences and Series, 5th place Mental Math, 15th place Calculus AB Class Test

2003 – 2004

The Mu Alpha Theta organization is a national math honor society for high school students.  This year, the national level contest was held in Huntsville, Alabama.  This year Beamer had the following awards:

Richard S. – 6th place Alpha Number Theory
Jeffrey W. – 8th place Alpha Sequences and Series
