As I send my children off to preschool this year, I now have a glimpse of what parents feel when they send their children off to a new school. While I will not pretend that preschool is equal to high school, I too hope that their teachers will value my daughters as beautiful, intelligent and engaging children. I once was told that the students in my classroom are the hopes and dreams of an entire family. I have always carried that image with me and I envision not only a student in my classroom, but an entire family of people who love and cherish this child.

While we are primarily learning about Pacific Rim history and Washington State history, students will work on skills that will enable them to be successful in high school. I will work closely with the ninth grade team to ensure that we build upon these skills in their ninth grade classes.
