|New Student Enrollment Students enrolling must reside within the Thomas Jefferson High School boundary. To find your resident school, click on the following link: School Boundaries. Proof of residence in the form of a utility bill, rental/lease agreement, or valid Washington State Driver’s License are required prior to enrollment. Parents/guardians must complete and submit the enrollment documents located on the attached link at the time of registration (see Enrollment Forms). Enrollment forms are also available in the counseling office. Prior to enrollment, students need to be withdrawn from their previous school. Enrollment can be expedited by obtaining the following records from your previous school:
- Unofficial Transcript
- Withdrawal Form with Transfer Grades
- Immunization Record
- Attendance Report
- Discipline Report (or statement from school there is none on file)
- State Test Scores
Students in Special Education need to also register with Student Support at our District Office (for driving directions, view Directions–ESC). By bringing a copy of the student’s current IEP you can expedite the enrollment process.
|Students’ Schedule of Courses Thomas Jefferson students are scheduled for seven courses for up to seven high school credits per year. Students attend all seven class periods on Monday and Friday and five class periods on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. See Bell Schedule for class times. Class schedule registration for incoming 9th grade students from Kilo and Totem middle schools normally occurs in mid-February. Currently enrolled students in grades 9-11 will register for next year’s classes in mid-March.
|Withdrawing from Thomas Jefferson High School If you are under 18, a parent/guardian must come to the counseling center to officially withdraw you. If you are over 18, come to the counseling center and withdraw. Students need to turn in all books and pay fees. Pursuant to RCWA.635.060, official transcripts will be withheld for unpaid fees or fines.
|Requesting a Transcript from Thomas Jefferson High School Current students may request an official transcript by signing up on the transcript request clipboard located in the counseling center. Transcripts are available for students to pick up within 24 hours. Previous students may obtain official transcripts by submitting a Transcript Request Form or by calling or emailing a request to the registrar. Please be sure to include your name, the last year you attended Thomas Jefferson, the address you’d like the transcript sent to and your phone number. There is no fee for transcripts and they will be mailed within 24 hours.
|Graduation Verification Employers requiring verification of graduation must email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or fax (253-945-5723) a release signed by the applicant. Graduation verification turnaround time is 24 hours.
