Payne, Kevin Email: krpayne@comcast.net   What's Up: I had an interesting journey finding the TJ website.  After becoming frustrated with my son's effort with high school math homework (he is a sophomore taking advance algebra), I pulled out my high school yearbook to ponder his high school experience with mine.  Is it hereditary that his frustrations were the same as mine, no matter what I have done to improve his lot?  In the process I began to wonder what experiences others from the class of 1978 had.  Using Google I began to search on a few names from the yearbook.  Not really expecting to find much, I did get a few hits.  Scott Warnock is still listed in the SPSL record books as one of the top rebounders and resides in Federal Way.  Tony Schoeler recently ran a 10K in under 50 minutes and is somehow involved in the NEA.  I found a hit on Eric Englund's writings of economic analysis and opinion.  Although not 100% sure it is the correct Eric Englund, it seems plausible.  This man graduated from WSU and has been in the economics profession since 1984.  I found a picture of him on a website, the chin looked the same but where was the hair?  I then found the TJ website and decided, at least for historical purposes, to write a note to fellow alumni. Imagine taking up this task (as meaningless as it may seem) in 1978.   The brief history of Kevin Payne.     1982 - The last year I was a resident of Federal Way.  Left for college. 1984 - Married to Rebecca Kuranko (and still married). 1985 - Graduated from WSU, began a career in Software development with Chevron Corp in San Ramon, California (San Francisco Bay Area). 1986 - Daughter was born, Marissa.  She is currently a freshman at University of Nevada Reno studying Music. 1989 - Son was born, Tristan. He is currently a sophomore at Dublin High School.   As a historical footnote, I was the software architect for an internet startup company.  Yes, one of many that popped up in the Bay Area in 1999-2000.  And just like most of them, failed after churning through millions of dollars and leaving my stock options worthless.  It was an interesting time.   Currently I reside in Dublin, California with my wife Becky.  I own a software services company with two other partners.  Although I often frequent the Seattle area, it has been well over 10 years since I last visited Federal way. But I often take special notice of Thomas Jefferson High School and my old neighborhood from a seat in a Boeing 737.  It seems appropriate as the memory becomes ever more distant.

Warnock, Scott email: the4redhdz@comcast.net What's up? Hi classmates! Kay (Elms) and I are still in the Federal Way area with one still going to TJ. Travis is 18 and a senior at TJ. Kyle (19) graduated two years ago and is attending college at University of South Carolina. I've been at Boeing now for 23 years doing Software Engineering work Kay's now branch manager at Leggett & Platt where she has worked for 24 years. We just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. I guess it has been that long since high school. 30th class reunion will be in 2008 so contact me about reunion information. Hope to see you there!
