What's up: Hello Class of 1980! I was so happy to discover
there are alumni pages on the TJ website. I hope lots of us post up
our material.
My wife Marguerite and I live in Palo Alto California. We've lived here
very happily since 1987. I work as the president of an organization
that brings together elected officials and business leaders, to tackle
our region's challenges. If you're interested to know more, check out
our website: [ http://www.jointventure.org ]www.jointventure.org .
My wife works at Stanford University as the director of a large, multi-disciplinary
research program in international studies. I also teach at Stanford,
in the public policy program.
We have three children, and the oldest is a student at Brigham Young
University. The youngest is a daughter in 6th grade, and in between
we have our son Sterling, a passionate soccer player who made the high
school team.
Friends who remember me as a pianist will be interested to know I have
a thriving performing career. In the past season I performed five different
piano concertos with five different symphony orchestras in the San Francisco
Bay Area. The most recent was a performance of the Rachmaninoff 2nd
piano concerto in Oakland.
Friends who remember my Mormon affiliation will be fascinated to know
I served for 5 years as the Bishop of the Stanford University congregation.
Our lives are happy and full. I reflect on those years we spent together
at TJ all the time, always fondly, always with the hope that all of
you are well. I feel so deeply appreciative of the memories we made,
and all the intense living that we experienced together. I will forever
be a Raider, and I'll be forever influenced by all of you.
Come see us in California!
Hyde, Daniel K.
