Dear Parents and Students,
The summer has provided all of us at school time to draw breath, and gain renewed energy and enthusiasm for the 2012-2013 school year ahead.
It is such a pleasure to know I will be Principal at Thomas Jefferson next year, and know we will be getting the new school year off to a positive start.
Our first day of school is Wednesday, September 5th. This day is predominantly a day where we welcome our freshmen and make them feel relaxed and happy about being at TJ.
We have many exciting activities planned and can’t wait to shower our freshmen with TJ Spirit and Pride.
At 12:30 pm we would like to invite all newly enrolled upper classmen (10th, 11th and 12th grade) to school for an orientation session. Students will have to provide their own transportation if they do not come to school in the morning. The students will gather in the Little Theater, where they will spend time with their peers, counselors, and teachers.
Our returning sophomores, juniors and seniors will certainly have activities that they can be involved with, but there will be no formal classes that day. Our formal schedule will start on Thursday, September 6th.
Please remember the school day now starts at 7:30 am. The end of school has not changed. The school day finishes at 2:10 pm.
I wish everyone an enjoyable and relaxing time, savoring the last few days of the summer with family and friends.
