 TEAM RULES

 

The three primary goals of the coaches are:

1: to promote an atmosphere of hard work, dedication, fun and a commitment to improving individual athletic potential.

2: Developing and fostering a team environment, which will enable athletes to reach higher standards as a result of a being part of a team.

3: To provide a safe, structured and balanced competition and training program that maximizes the team’s competitive potential while building individual excellence.

2. Meets:

a. There will be a dress code on days of meets team captains will notify team members as to clothing to be worn to school on meet days. Note: New TJ race uniforms and meet warm-ups are only to be worn on meet days and not at practice or outside of school.

b. Bus policy: Athletes must ride team bus to and from meets for regular season varsity meets. Note: This policy is in effect when a team bus is provided

c. Athletes are not to argue with a meet official under any circumstance.

d. At awards ceremonies athletes must wear team warm-ups or race uniform if given permission by a head coach.

 

3. Ambassador for our school and the track & field team:

a. As a member of the team your personal conduct in school, at practice, in competition, and outside of school is a reflection on your team, school and community. You are expected to be an ambassador for your team, and your conduct should consistently serve as a positive role model for the team. If an incident occurs which reflects negatively on yourself and your team is noticed by or brought to the attention of a coach, you will meet with the coaching staff to determine your status on the team.

 

4. Injury procedures:

a.  A team member must inform a TJ track & field coach prior to seeing an athletic trainer.

  1. This rule does not apply in the event of an emergency

 

5. Every athlete is expected to get along and encourage all teammates.
