Career Academy

Welcome to Career Academy

Career Academy students are engaged in activities preparing them for productive and fulfilling careers. The curriculum is wide-ranging and integrative, drawing on the individual student’s needs and skills.  Our small school environment allows for strong relationships and opportunities for involvement.  Staff will tailor lessons to the readiness level of students.

Level 1

… encompasses our freshman and sophomore students. Students work on core areas of study in English, history, mathematics and science in order get prepared for the state assessments (HSPE). In addition students will complete requirements in health and occupational education (CTE). Students start the process of a career focus through taking DigiTools and Career Choices.

Level 2

… encompasses junior and senior years. Students continue toward completion of the Washington State graduation requirements through additional course work in English, history, and mathematics. Students also have the option of pursuing vocational education at the Puget Sound Skills Center or get a head start at college through Running Start.

Career and Technical Education (CTE)

Most Career Academy CTE courses earn Tech Prep credits earning both high school and college credit. In addition some CTE courses earn industry certifications such as our ProStart Culinary Arts program.
