Schoolwide Family Event at Mark Twain!

Who is invited?  Parents, guardians and children of Mark Twain Elementary.

When?  March 6, 2012 (Tuesday) from 6:00-7:30 PM

What will we do? Two activities that support your child in reaching Reading and Math Standards PLUS hear a brief presentation on Standards Based Education by our Principal, Mr. Rutherford.

Where?
Grade Level Presentations are in classrooms. (you can stay at one grade for two presentations OR choose to go to two different presentations),
Technology/Computers is in the Library and
Mr. Rutherford’s talk, Prize Drawings, and Book Give-Away are in the Gym

Join us for an exciting night of learning and fun.

It’s track time again. Mrs. Yanez and Mr. Alvarez will be heading up the Mark Twain Track Team. There will be practices for grades 3-5 each Thursday starting March 1st. Students will need both the GREEN (afterschool permission) and BLUE (medical release) forms to attend practices. Kindergarten-2nd grade students will need the BLUE form, but will be practicing during their P.E. time. If your child needs a form please have them contact Mr. Alvarez or their teachers for assistance.
As with last year, there is an emphasis on academics BEFORE extracurricular activities. If you have a track student who receives a RED LIGHT offense at school they will not be able to practice. If a student is suspended they will be dropped from the team. We are expecting the track team to be models of good behavior.

Please remember that the busses need to be able to get through to pick up the kids. If you are picking up your child please follow the signs. There are several teachers out there each day to help your child get in your car in a safe manner. It is important to be courteous and patient as we help get your child to your car.
