Counseling and Guidance

 

Mark Twain's School has a full time Counselor Position. The Counselor provides a Comprehensive Guidance Program including classroom presentations, educational support groups, and responsive services. In addition we have a part time coordinator for Family Support for the Success For All Program.

Classroom Presentations are held every week at every grade level during the entire school year. Most presentations last 15-20 minutes and focus on topics such as social skills and career exploration and planning.

Educational Support Groups Are offered each quarter at every grade level. Each group meets for 30 minutes once a week. Types of groups:

Responsive Services include individual counseling (short term), consultation, and referral.

Family Support for Success For All includes Attendance, School-based intervention, Parent Support (home visits with all first grade families) and Service Integration.
