Twin Lakes - 3rd / 4th / 5th GATE

Mr. McClung

Gifted and Talented Education

Program Description:
The multi-age GATE (3rd/4th/5th) program at Twin Lakes provides instruction in grade level expectations, self-directed learning opportunities and preparation for the rigors of advanced placement courses in middle and high schools. The class is comprised of exceptional students with a wide range of talents including academic, cognitive, artistic, and leadership. Under-achieving gifted students are also considered for the program. The students of Twin Lake's self-contained multi-age class reflect the socio-economic and ethnic diversity of Twin Lakes Elementary.

Nomination Process:
The 2008/09 multi-age GATE class at Twin Lakes has openings for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. Twin Lake staff members, community members and students' families nominate students for GATE. Factors considered in creating a balanced class are socio-economic status, ethnicity, indicators of giftedness and gender. Final decisions for placement in the GATE program rest with the Principal. Parent nomination forms can be downloaded using the link below.

Due date for 2008-2009 Academic Year:
